Anish Sarkar Makes Chess History As World’s Youngest FIDE-Rated Player At Three

West Bengal chess prodigy Anish Sarkar made history at just three years, eight months and 19 days. In November 2024, he became the world’s youngest FIDE-rated chess player, securing a rating of 1555.

His remarkable accomplishment brought national recognition. President Droupadi Murmu presented him with the Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2024, honouring his exceptional achievement at such a young age.

Following the award ceremony, Anish interacted with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The meeting highlighted the young chess player’s extraordinary milestone and the growing possibilities for India’s emerging talent.
