Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared on Monday that Operation Sindoor was not just a warning to Pakistan but a powerful message to the entire world that India will not tolerate threats to its sovereignty, citizens, or borders.
Speaking at a Shankhnad rally, Shah emphasised that India’s armed forces are prepared to retaliate with full force.
“No one should meddle with India’s army, people, or borders. If they do, they will face serious consequences,” Shah asserted.
Shah explained the symbolic naming of the military response, “We named it Operation Sindoor to show that the vermilion on the foreheads of our mothers, sisters, and daughters is sacred. If anyone dares to harm it, they will pay in blood.”
Amit Shah Recalls Pahalgam Terror Attack
The Home Minister recalled the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. He said Pakistan-backed terrorists killed innocent civilians after confirming their religion.
He highlighted India’s strong response, referencing PM Modi’s earlier statement that those responsible would be found and eliminated.
“Pakistan forgot that this is PM Modi’s India. After Uri, we launched a surgical strike. After Pulwama, we carried out an airstrike. After Pahalgam, we executed Operation Sindoor and flattened their terror hubs,” he said.
Detailing the operation, Shah said that on May 7 at 1:04 AM, Indian forces launched a swift strike. Within 22 minutes, they destroyed nine terrorist locations, including the central command headquarters.
Shah noted that Pakistan launched a missile and drone attack on May 8, but India’s air defence system neutralised all threats mid-air, preventing any damage to Indian territory.
India’s Vision: Peace And Strength
Shah outlined a dual vision for India, a Viksit Bharat (Developed India) by 2047, and an India strong enough to deter any external threats.
While Operation Sindoor targeted cross-border terrorism, Shah said the government also conducted Operation Black Forest to tackle left-wing extremism within India.
“Our CRPF, Chhattisgarh Police, and BSF eliminated many Maoists and forced others to surrender. By March 31, 2026, we will become a Maoist-free nation,” Amit Shah said.
