Amit Shah Visits BSF’s Strategic Sanchu Post Along India-Pakistan Border In Rajasthan

Union Home Minister Amit Shah visited the historic Border Security Force (BSF) Sanchu Post along the India-Pakistan border in Rajasthan’s Bikaner district on Tuesday and interacted with soldiers deployed in the desert frontier region.

Accompanied by Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma, Shah praised the courage, dedication and sacrifice of BSF personnel guarding the nation’s borders under extreme weather conditions.

During the visit, Amit Shah attended the ‘Prahari Sammelan’, interacted with BSF personnel and shared refreshments and a traditional breakfast with them.

The Minister also virtually inaugurated 14 women’s barracks at BSF border posts to improve facilities for female personnel.

Shah reviewed drone surveillance systems and modern border management technologies at the ‘Prahari Arms Gallery’ and praised BSF personnel for serving in extreme conditions from deserts to snow-covered regions. He paid tribute to nearly 2,000 security personnel who sacrificed their lives protecting the nation’s borders.

The Home Minister also planted a Khejri sapling and highlighted its importance in desert regions.

Recalling the 1965 India-Pakistan war, Amit Shah praised Indian soldiers for defending Sanchu against Pakistani forces and said the region still celebrates the victory as ‘Sanchu Diwas’ and ‘Vijay Utsav’.

Shah became the first Union Home Minister to visit the strategic Sanchu Post and interact directly with BSF personnel. He also reviewed border security operations and surveyed the ‘Zero Point’ area.

Later, the Minister will chair a high-level meeting in Bikaner to review border security, smuggling concerns and the implementation of the Vibrant Villages Programme.
