Amit Shah To Visit Bastar For Tribal Outreach And Security Review

Union HM Amit Shah will visit Chhattisgarh’s Bastar region on Saturday to participate in a series of culturally and strategically significant programmes.

His visit comes after an invitation from the local Member of Parliament, the President of the Bastar Dussehra Committee, and tribal leaders known as Manjhis.

Deputy Chief Minister and Chhattisgarh Home Minister Vijay Sharma confirmed Shah’s itinerary and said the Union Minister will engage directly with tribal traditions and festivities.

Amit Shah to Attend Muria Darbar and Dine with Tribal Priests

As part of the Bastar Dussehra celebrations, Shah will attend the Muria Darbar, a traditional tribal council gathering. He will dine with revered tribal priests, including the Manjhi, Gayta, and Perma.

The symbolic participation highlights the Centre’s outreach to indigenous communities and its recognition of tribal cultural heritage.

Shah will also visit the Swadeshi Mela in Jagdalpur, a fair that showcases handicrafts, indigenous products, and traditional arts. His presence is expected to boost the morale of artisans and promote the region’s push toward a self-reliant economy.

Alongside cultural engagements, Shah’s visit carries strong strategic importance. He will chair a high-level meeting with security force officials in Bastar to review progress against Naxal violence.

The discussions will focus on strengthening operations and finalising the roadmap for eliminating insurgency.

Deputy CM Sharma said the government has set an ambitious target to resolve the Naxalite issue by March 31, 2026.

Officials view Shah’s visit as a blend of cultural solidarity and administrative oversight, underlining the Centre’s dual commitment to tribal welfare and national security.

The Union Home Minister’s presence in Bastar, a region sensitive due to Naxal activity, reinforces the government’s pledge for peace, development, and inclusive governance.

Preparations are underway in Bastar. Local leaders and tribal representatives have expressed optimism about the outcomes of this high-profile visit.
