Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Monday announced that he would join party workers at the inauguration of the ‘Poriborton Yatra’ in the South 24 Parganas district of West Bengal.
The campaign has been launched by the state unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party to mobilise support across the state.
In a post on X, Shah said the people of West Bengal, ‘tormented by TMC’s misgovernance’, are yearning for change.
To strengthen what he described as a growing public demand for transformation, the BJP’s West Bengal unit has therefore organised the ‘Poriborton Yatra’.

“Today, I will join workers at the launch of the ‘Poriborton Yatra’ in South 24 Parganas. BJP workers will carry the resolve for an ‘Infiltrator-Free Bengal’ across the state,” Amit Shah said.
The Bharatiya Janata Party has further stepped up its campaign against the ruling All India Trinamool Congress, alleging corruption, poor governance and law-and-order failures.
Through social media, BJP4Bengal highlighted issues such as recruitment scams, smuggling, unemployment and campus crimes, calling it a ‘wall clock of scams and Mahajungle Raj’.
The ‘Poriborton Yatra’, themed ‘Poriborton Sankalpo, BJP Bikalpa’, will tour districts to mobilise grassroots support. With Shah launching it in South 24 Parganas, the BJP aims to consolidate backing ahead of crucial political battles in West Bengal.
