Union Home Minister Amit Shah will participate in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s ‘Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao’ march in Karnal, Haryana, on Thursday.

Organisers will conduct a padyatra from Sector 12 to Dayanand Chowk as part of the BJP’s nationwide campaign.

The party is organising these marches to counter the INDIA bloc’s campaign against the Election Commission of India and Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Authorities have put stringent security measures in place ahead of Shah’s visit.

After the Karnal programme, Shah will travel to Ambala to inaugurate the modern Martyrs’ Memorial and inspect the complex.

The visit will mark his first appearance in Ambala Cantt, although he has previously visited Ambala twice to address election rallies.

This time, Shah will not attend a political gathering. Instead, he will pay tribute to the heroes of the country’s First War of Independence in 1857.

The inauguration forms part of Haryana’s 60th foundation day celebrations.

On November 1, Haryana Foundation Day, Shah extended greetings to the state’s residents and recognised its contributions to national development.

The Home Minister praised the state’s soldiers for defending the country, its athletes for bringing honour to the national flag, and its farmers for strengthening agriculture and animal husbandry.

Shah expressed hope that Haryana would continue advancing towards prosperity and progress.
