Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah will likely campaign across several constituencies in West Bengal on Saturday, as the Bharatiya Janata Party intensifies its efforts ahead of the upcoming Assembly elections.

The day’s programme will begin in the Onda constituency of Bankura district, where Shah is expected to address a public gathering late in the morning. He will then proceed to another rally in the Chhatna constituency, continuing his outreach in the same district.

In the afternoon, Shah will travel to Purulia district to address a third meeting in the Baghmundi constituency, where party workers and supporters are likely to gather in large numbers.

These engagements form part of the BJP’s wider campaign strategy to strengthen its presence in key regions of the state, with senior leaders actively engaging voters in the run-up to the elections.

Manifesto ‘Sankalp Patra’ Unveiled

A day earlier, Shah unveiled the party’s election manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra’, outlining several major promises.

Among the key proposals are the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission and the introduction of a Uniform Civil Code within six months of forming the government.

Speaking at the launch, Shah said the people of West Bengal are looking for change and expressed confidence in the BJP’s growing role as the principal opposition in the state. He also highlighted the party’s commitment to a strict stance on infiltration if voted to power.

The manifesto further promises financial and social measures, including ensuring dearness allowance for government employees, introducing the 7th Pay Commission within a short timeframe, and providing financial assistance to women.

The BJP has also pledged to reserve one-third of government jobs for women, including positions in the police force.

With senior leadership stepping up campaign activity and policy commitments laid out, the BJP is aiming to expand its voter base in the state ahead of polling.
