The 26th meeting of the Central Zonal Council will be held in Bastar on May 19, marking a significant moment for regional cooperation and governance initiatives in central India.

Chief Minister Sai said the participating states play a key role in the broader vision of a developed India and described the council as an example of collaborative federalism. He noted that the member states have maintained a cooperative approach without major disputes, making the council a productive forum for policy discussions.
The Chhattisgarh government also described the hosting of the meeting in Bastar as symbolically important. Officials said organising a national-level event in the region reflects improved peace and stability there in recent years.
Chief Minister Sai credited the restoration of normalcy in Bastar to the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.
