Union HM Amit Shah on Thursday launched a scathing attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his family, asserting that neither he nor Rabri Devi nor Tejashwi Yadav could bring development to Bihar.
NDA Brings Prosperity, Not RJD: Amit Shah
Shah declared that Bihar could only prosper under a strong NDA.
“Lalu Yadav, Rabri Devi, and Tejashwi Yadav cannot develop Bihar. The stronger the NDA, the more prosperous Bihar will be,” he said while addressing BJP workers from 10 districts in Dehri, Rohtas.
He accused the RJD of promoting corruption during its rule, citing the fodder scam, land-for-jobs scam, and jail scam.
“On one side is their corrupt government, and on the other side is the Modi government, which has no stain of corruption,” he said.
The Home Minister emphasised that the BJP’s strength lies in its cadre.
“In other parties, leaders win elections, but in the BJP, it is the workers who ensure victory,” he told the gathering.
He urged party workers to secure victory for 80 per cent of NDA candidates in the region and to spread the government’s achievements to every household.
Call to Youth and Criticism of RJD Rule
Shah appealed to the youth to back the NDA for a better future.
“If today’s youth want to move forward and walk on the path of development, they must strengthen the NDA government in the upcoming elections,” he said.
He added that Bihar had already seen the rule of RJD and its allies, which only brought extortion and violence, not prosperity.
Targeting Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s Voter Adhikar Yatra, Shah dismissed it as a ‘Save the Infiltrators campaign’.
He asked, “Should infiltrators get ration cards, Ayushman cards, or voting rights?”
In a veiled dig at Gandhi, Shah also contrasted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s work ethic with his opponent’s lifestyle.
“In 24 years as Prime Minister and Chief Minister, Modi ji has not taken a single day of leave. On the other hand, there is a person who goes abroad every six months for vacation,” he said.
HM Shah highlighted several initiatives of the NDA government. He pointed out that the Nitish Kumar government provides 125 units of free electricity and has increased social pension amounts.
He also underlined achievements such as Operation Sindoor, airstrikes against enemy countries, construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and the upcoming Goddess Sita temple in Sitamarhi.
“We reduced GST slabs, which will benefit the common people of Bihar,” he said.
Acknowledging that the BJP-NDA underperformed in the Shahabad region during the 2020 Assembly elections, Shah urged party workers to step up this time.
“Go to every doorstep and inform people about the double-engine government’s measures. We need better performance in Shahabad and Magadh regions to win 80 per cent of Bihar’s seats and form a majority government in the state,” he concluded.
