Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah addressed a massive public gathering on Saturday at Bairagi Camp in Haridwar during the program titled Jan-Jan Ki Sarkar, 4 Saal Bemisaal. He praised Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, stating that the CM has been systematically resolving the state’s issues, helping Uttarakhand move forward on a faster path of development.
At the start of his address, Shah recalled the Uttarakhand statehood movement. He said that the youth of Uttarakhand had to take to the streets to protect their identity, culture, and rights, and faced tragic incidents such as the Rampur Tiraha case.
He noted that when the BJP formed the government at the Centre, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee created new states including Uttarakhand, Jharkhand, and Chhattisgarh, which are now progressing rapidly.
Shah said Uttarakhand was created by Atal Bihari Vajpayee and is now being strengthened under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He added that the period from 2017 to 2026 has been dedicated to the development of Uttarakhand, and in the last four years, Chief Minister Dhami has worked tirelessly to address the state’s challenges.
Shah urged people to visit an exhibition on the new criminal laws. He said the Modi government replaced 150-year-old British-era laws and that by 2028, the new justice system will be fully implemented. According to him, cases from FIR to the Supreme Court will be resolved within three years, making it one of the world’s most modern justice systems.
Citizenship And Key National Decisions
Congratulating refugees who received Indian citizenship under the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA), Shah said Hindus, Sikhs, Buddhists, and Jains who came from Pakistan and Afghanistan have equal rights in India. He added that they were deprived for a long time due to appeasement politics.
He also referred to major decisions such as the abrogation of Article 370, the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, the reconstruction of Kedarnath and Badrinath Dham, the Kashi Vishwanath Corridor, and the Mahakal Lok project.
Shah congratulated 1,900 youths who received appointment letters in the Uttarakhand Police and said government jobs are now being provided without recommendations or financial influence. He credited Dhami’s strict anti-copying law for bringing transparency to recruitment.
He added that the 2027 Haridwar Kumbh Mela will break all records. The Vibrant Village scheme is also strengthening border villages by giving them the status of “first villages,” helping to curb migration.
