Amit Shah Launches Major Industrial Push In Madhya Pradesh, Targeting Nearly Two Lakh Jobs

Union Home and Cooperation Minister Amit Shah, accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, on Thursday inaugurated the Abhyudaya Madhya Pradesh Growth Summit in Gwalior.

The event coincided with the 101st birth anniversary of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and highlighted the state’s accelerating industrial momentum.

As part of the summit, Shah laid the foundation stones for 1,655 industrial units across Madhya Pradesh.

The projects will attract investments exceeding ₹2 lakh crore and create nearly 1.93 lakh direct jobs, giving a significant boost to the state’s economy.

Officials noted that the summit reflected Madhya Pradesh’s progress in translating investment commitments into concrete outcomes over the past two years.

The energy sector emerged as a major focus, with three projects worth ₹60,000 crore expected to create 12,600 jobs. Mining attracted investments of ₹7,050 crore across 13 projects, projected to employ over 9,500 people.

Renewable energy witnessed strong interest, drawing ₹35,581 crore for 496 projects and generating more than 5,500 jobs.

Tourism secured ₹386 crore through two projects, expected to create 2,700 employment opportunities, while the health sector received investments of ₹240 crore, with additional funds earmarked for healthcare development.

Investor Confidence and Policy Support

Prominent industrialists from leading business groups attended the summit, underlining growing national confidence in Madhya Pradesh’s industrial ecosystem.

The programme included the distribution of land allocation letters and the dedication of completed initiatives. It also featured incentive disbursements to investors through a single-click system.

The organisers also honoured entrepreneurs who made significant contributions to job creation.

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav emphasised the development of industrial clusters and plug-and-play facilities to strengthen local industries. He added that these initiatives directly connect youth with employment opportunities.

Exhibitions at the venue showcased Vajpayee’s legacy alongside recent industrial reforms.

The initiative aligns with the state’s broader vision of sustainable development, self-reliance, and inclusive growth. It reinforces Madhya Pradesh’s ambition to emerge as a key industrial hub in the coming years.
