Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the NDA’s Bihar Assembly election campaign from Saran district on Friday, urging voters to reject the return of the so-called Jungle Raj era.
Addressing a large gathering in Taraiya block, Shah launched a pointed attack on RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and his party’s policies.
Shah reminded Bihar’s youth of the lawlessness that prevailed two decades ago and called on them to prevent its return.
“Nitish Kumar’s fight was against Jungle Raj then, and our fight is against Jungle Raj today,” he said, asserting that the NDA aims to secure the largest majority in two decades.
Aiming at the opposition, Shah questioned the RJD’s candidate choices, highlighting the inclusion of Shahabuddin’s son on their list.
“If RJD is still giving tickets to Shahabuddin’s son, can Bihar remain safe?” he asked, stressing the need for a government led by Prime Minister Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.
Shah praised PM Modi’s role in fulfilling the Ram Temple project in Ayodhya and noted the construction of a temple dedicated to Goddess Sita in Punaura Dham, Sitamarhi.
He also listed the NDA government’s achievements under Nitish Kumar, including 125 units of free electricity for 1.67 crore families, increased pensions, and Rs 10,000 transfers under the Jeevika scheme.
Shah further added that improved infrastructure now allows travel across Bihar in just five hours.
The Home Minister reiterated that the NDA contest in Bihar is led by Nitish Kumar at the state level and PM Modi nationally, promising continued development and governance focused on law, order, and citizen welfare.
