Prime Minister Narendra Modi met Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty in New Delhi on Friday, expressing deep appreciation for President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi’s pivotal role in the Gaza Peace Agreement.

Sharing his thoughts on social media, PM Modi highlighted the growing India-Egypt Strategic Partnership, noting its benefits for both nations, the wider region, and humanity at large.

During the meeting, PM Modi congratulated President Sisi and expressed hope that the peace agreement would contribute to lasting stability in Gaza.

The PMO stated that PM Modi expressed satisfaction with the progress in trade, technology, energy, defence, and people-to-people ties between the two countries.

Shared Commitment to the Global South

EAM Jaishankar emphasised that India and Egypt share a commitment to the progress of the Global South, strengthening the independence and freedom of choice for nations in world affairs.
