Union Home Minister Amit Shah hoisted the national flag at his residence in New Delhi on Wednesday, highlighting the ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ initiative as a movement that unites the country and fosters a patriotic spirit.
Over the past three years, the campaign has grown into a widespread movement, attracting citizens from all walks of life who have actively participated in both online and offline events across India.
Taking to X, Shah posted, “Today, under the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, I hoisted the Tricolour at my residence. The ‘Har Ghar Tiranga’ campaign, initiated under the leadership of Modi ji, has today become a people’s movement that binds the nation in the thread of unity and strengthens the spirit of patriotism.”
“This campaign demonstrates that the 140 crore citizens of the country are determined to develop and make the best of the free India that countless freedom fighters realised through their sacrifice, penance, and dedication,” the post further added.

The initiative encourages every Indian to bring the Tricolour home and hoist it in celebration of Independence Day, aiming to deepen citizens’ connection with the national flag and instil a sense of national pride.
Earlier on Monday, Union Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat called on the public to participate wholeheartedly in the fourth edition of the campaign, emphasising the importance of maintaining the flag’s ‘respect and sanctity’.
For this year’s celebrations, over five lakh young volunteers have registered to motivate citizens across the country to join the initiative.
Meanwhile, the campaign is hosting multiple events nationwide.
Nationwide Rallies and Celebrations
On Tuesday, a Har Ghar Tiranga rally flagged off from Delhi’s Bharat Mandapam to promote the campaign and encourage citizens to hoist the Tricolour at their homes.
Union Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister Shekhawat, Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and several Members of Parliament attended the rally.
In a remarkable celebration in Jammu and Kashmir, Doda district hosted a Mega Tiranga rally featuring a 1,508-metre-long national flag, setting a record and creating a memorable Independence Day moment.
