Amit Shah Highlights Transformative Power Of Books At The Ahmedabad International Book Fair

Union Home Minister and Minister of Cooperation Amit Shah on Saturday underscored the transformative role of books in shaping personality and thought as he distributed books to children and explored stalls at the Ahmedabad International Book Fair.

Organised by the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in collaboration with the National Book Trust, the fair features a wide array of literary programmes, folk performances, poetry recitations and a start-up forum designed to promote intellectual and skill development among young readers.

In a post on X, Shah remarked that books serve not only as repositories of knowledge but also as a powerful medium for holistic personality growth. He expressed confidence that the fair would significantly enrich children and youth, fostering curiosity, creativity and lifelong learning.

Political Messaging Takes Centre Stage in Morbi

A day earlier, Shah inaugurated the newly constructed Shree Kamalam BJP district office in Morbi, where he addressed a packed gathering of party workers.

Accompanied by Gujarat BJP president Jagdish Vishwakarma, he participated in a felicitation ceremony marking a notable organisational milestone for the district unit.

In a charged political address, the Home Minister targeted the Opposition and energised workers ahead of upcoming local body elections. He asserted that predictions about the BJP’s decline were unfounded, proclaiming that the BJP-led NDA would secure victories even in states such as Tamil Nadu and West Bengal.

He urged party workers to aim for record-breaking performances in municipal and panchayat polls under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel and Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghavi.

Shah also reiterated the BJP’s firm stance on national security, emphasising a zero-tolerance approach to illegal infiltration. He criticised the Congress while highlighting voter support for the NDA’s position in states like Bihar. He reflected on the party’s evolution and said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi strengthened the BJP’s foundations of ideology and organisation while adding a crucial third pillar of service that guides lakhs of party workers towards public welfare.

As the Ahmedabad International Book Fair continues to draw visitors, Shah’s message reinforced the dual themes of intellectual enrichment and political mobilisation.
