Key Administrative Offices Housed in the New Complex
The newly constructed complex houses the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), the National Security Council Secretariat (NSCS), and the Cabinet Secretariat.
Located about one kilometre from the iconic South Block on Raisina Hill, the facility will likely serve as a new cornerstone of governance by bringing key arms of the administrative machinery into close proximity.
During the inauguration, PM Modi was accompanied by several Union Ministers, including Minister of State in the PMO Dr Jitendra Singh, Housing and Urban Affairs Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, among other dignitaries.
Dedicating the ‘Seva Teerth’ and ‘Kartavya Bhavan’ complexes to the nation, the Prime Minister said the modern facilities represent a deep commitment to citizen-centric governance and national progress, marking a departure from colonial-era symbolism.
He recalled that British-era structures on Raisina Hill, including South Block and North Block, designed to project imperial authority over an ‘enslaved’ India.
In contrast, he said, ‘Seva Teerth’ is connected to ground level, symbolising humility and closeness to citizens, and created to fulfil the aspirations of 140 crore Indians.
