Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday hailed India’s recent counter-terror operation, ‘Operation Sindoor’, as a turning point in the country’s evolving security framework.
He emphasised that the response to the Pahalgam terror attack not only demonstrated military strength but also marked a strategic shift in India’s national security posture.
A Clear Message Of Political Will And Military Precision
Speaking at the inauguration of the new Multi-Agency Centre (MAC) at North Block in New Delhi, Shah described the operation as a ‘unique symbol’ of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s decisive leadership, the precision of intelligence agencies, and the formidable capabilities of India’s armed forces.
“Operation Sindoor is a unique symbol of PM Modi’s determination, our intelligence agencies’ precision, and the impeccable striking capability of our three armed forces,” Shah stated.
From Retaliation To Resilience
India launched Operation Sindoor following the brutal terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed 26 civilians.
The operation, lasting four days, saw intense hostilities with Pakistan and concluded with an understanding on 10 May.
The government had earlier warned that any act of terror would be treated as an act of war—a stark shift from previous restraint.
This firm stance, according to Shah, reflects India’s transition from a reactive to a proactive security doctrine.
Enhancing Intelligence Infrastructure With The New MAC
At the same event, Shah inaugurated the revamped Multi-Agency Centre, designed to strengthen inter-agency coordination.
Operated under the Intelligence Bureau, the MAC now enables real-time intelligence sharing across law enforcement and national security platforms.
He stressed that the enhanced infrastructure would improve India’s ability to counter internal and external threats more effectively.
“India now operates on a proactive, not reactive, security doctrine,” Shah asserted.
A Broader Strategic Shift In National Security
Security analysts note that the recent sequence of developments — including Operation Sindoor, the scale of Operation Black Forest, and the technological upgrade of MAC — signals a deliberate and institutionalised shift in India’s approach to national security.
The government, they say, is laying the foundation for a future-ready, intelligence-led counter-terrorism ecosystem, focused on pre-emptive action and strategic deterrence.
