Amit Shah Congratulates PM Modi On Receiving Slovakia's Highest Honour

Union Home Minister Amit Shah extended his congratulations to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after Slovakia presented him with the Order of the White Double Cross (First Class).

According to Shah, the distinction represents a proud achievement for the nation and acknowledges the Prime Minister’s role in enhancing India’s profile worldwide.

Through a post on social media, Shah remarked that the honour reflects PM Modi’s ability to build strong international relationships and advance India’s position in global affairs.

Prime Minister Modi received the award during his official visit to Slovakia, undertaken at the invitation of Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico.

The trip entered the history books as the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the country since Slovakia emerged as an independent nation in 1993.

Diplomatic officials described the visit as an important milestone in the evolving partnership between the two countries.

Slovak President Peter Pellegrini formally bestowed the country’s highest state honour on PM Modi during a ceremony held at the Presidential Palace in Bratislava.

The award recognised his contribution to expanding cooperation and strengthening relations between India and Slovakia.

The Slovak honour became the 33rd international distinction awarded to PM Modi by a foreign government. It adds to a series of prestigious accolades received from nations across different regions of the world.

The recognition is widely viewed as an indication of India’s expanding diplomatic reach and growing influence on the international stage.

During his stay in Bratislava, PM Modi held separate meetings with Prime Minister Fico and President Pellegrini. The discussions focused on strengthening bilateral cooperation and exploring new opportunities for collaboration.

The leaders also exchanged perspectives on major international developments, reaffirming their commitment to deeper engagement on political, economic and strategic matters.
