Rainfall reached 436 per cent above normal in parts of Assam, affecting over nine lakh people across 1,800 villages in 25 districts and claiming 41 lives.
Rescue operations continue with the IAF, NDRF and SDRF, while more than 148 relief camps are sheltering nearly 30,000 people and distributing essential supplies.
Chief Minister Sarma said the state government, in coordination with the Centre, is preparing a comprehensive rehabilitation package for affected families. He added that Assam also plans to hold discussions with neighbouring states to improve coordination in tackling the impact of upstream cloudbursts and strengthening preparedness for future flood-related disasters.
