After concluding a multi-nation diplomatic tour, BJP MP Rekha Sharma on Tuesday described the visit as a resounding success, highlighting a strong wave of positivity and support for India across Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Algeria, as part of an all-party delegation led by BJP leader Baijayant Panda that recently returned to India following the overseas engagements.
Speaking to ANI, Sharma said, “There is widespread positivity towards India because we talk about peace and development, whereas Pakistan continues to focus on conflict and terrorism.”
Countering Misinformation With Evidence
The delegation’s visit aimed to counter narratives pushed by Pakistan in these regions.
According to Sharma, misinformation had previously shaped perceptions in several countries, but Indian representatives effectively corrected the record.
“Our leader, Baijayant Panda, raised important points, and we presented concrete proof against Pakistan’s false claims. Leaders in those countries understood that Pakistan had been misleading them, and their attitude towards India changed accordingly,” she stated.
Emphasis On Operation Sindoor And India’s New Security Posture
The delegation also used the visit to explain India’s position following the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, and to highlight the significance of Operation Sindoor—India’s military response aimed at dismantling cross-border terror infrastructure.
“We made it clear that India is no longer weak,” Sharma stressed. “If Pakistan attempts similar acts again, Operation Sindoor will continue. These actions will persist until Pakistan takes serious steps to dismantle its terror camps.”
Shared Experience Of Terrorism
The tour also found common ground on the issue of global terrorism. Sharma noted that leaders and stakeholders in all four countries expressed sympathy and understanding, having faced similar challenges themselves.
“Everyone we met spoke out against terrorism. These countries, too, have suffered. They understand what India is going through and are standing with us in solidarity,” she added.
United Political Front Strengthens India’s Global Message
A key message carried by the delegation was that of Indian unity across political and religious lines.
Despite being a multi-party group, Sharma said the delegation delivered a consistent and united message.
“All members, from various political parties and religious backgrounds, stood together to show the world that India is united. This solidarity is vital when presenting our case to the international community,” she emphasised.
Delegation, Composition, And Purpose
The delegation, led by Baijayant Panda, included senior figures such as Harsh Vardhan Shringla, BJP MPs Nishikant Dubey, Phangnon Konyak, and Rekha Sharma, along with AIMIM MP Asaduddin Owaisi, and representatives Satnam Singh Sandhu and Ghulam Nabi Azad.
During the visit, the team held meetings with top officials and leaders across the Gulf and North Africa.
They briefed them on India’s firm response to terrorism, the objectives of Operation Sindoor, and the country’s broader policy of zero tolerance towards cross-border terrorism.
Conclusion
As the delegation returns to India, the message is clear: New Delhi is not only defending its national security with resolve, but it is also successfully building global support for its efforts.
The unified voice of India’s political spectrum, articulated abroad, has made a strong impact in reinforcing India’s image as a responsible, peace-seeking power committed to rooting out terrorism at its source.
