Air India flight passengers’ life will be in danger: Warning came from “Sikhs For Justice” group

Aakash Chopra, a former cricket player for India, called for the arrest of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a terrorist from Khalistan who had threatened the passengers on an Air India flight on November 19 by claiming that their “lives would be in danger”. The leader of the Canadian terrorist group “Sikhs For Justice” requested that Sikhs refrain from traveling on Air India aircraft on November 19 and beyond.

Special warning for Sikhs to be traveling in Air India flight

In a video clip that surfaced on November 4, Pannun can be heard saying, “We are asking all Sikhs to avoid boarding Air India flights on November 19. On that day, there will be a global blockade, and Air India will not be allowed to fly anywhere across the world. Sikhs, you do not travel by Air India after November 19. It can be life-threatening. This is my warning to the government of India.”

“The Indira Gandhi International Airport should remain closed on the 19th of November,” said Pannun, chief of the fringe group.

Aakash Chopra requests for arrest of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun

Aakash Chopra responded to the threat on social media, while India would bring up the threat to Air India flights to and from Canada from the SFJ and request increased security for the airline with Canadian authorities.

“How’s this man not arrested yet, Canada??” the cricket commentator wrote on ‘X’ platform.

In a response to a query from media, India’s high commissioner to Ottawa Sanjay Kumar Verma said, “We shall take up the threat against Air India flights originating from and terminating in Canada, with the concerned Canadian authorities.”

The operation ‘Blue Star’

Terrorists from Khalistani group killed former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi in 1984. The recent threat from Pannun is also thought to be a subliminal allusion to the bombing of the Air India airliner Kanishka. Extremists from the Khalistani movement carried out the 1985 bombing of the Air India aircraft Kanishka, which was one of the largest acts of terrorism in history prior to 9/11.

Notedly, the final match of the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup is scheduled for November 19 at the Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad. The major athletic event has also been dubbed the “World Terror Cup” by Pannun, who claims it provides a forum for drawing attention to crimes committed against Sikhs in India.
