AEEDU AGM And Stakeholders’ Meet Highlights Educational Initiatives For The Underprivileged

The Alliance for Economic and Educational Development of the Underprivileged (AEEDU) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) and Stakeholders’ Meet at the CD Deshmukh Auditorium, India International Centre. The event showcased AEEDU’s commitment to empowering underprivileged communities through education, skill development, and entrepreneurship.

The AGM began at 10:45 AM, with CEO Syed Mahmood Akhter delivering the welcome address. Dr SY Quraishi, AEEDU’s President, outlined the organization’s achievements and goals in his inaugural speech. He stressed AEEDU’s dedication to managing study centres across India despite financial challenges. Dr. Quraishi announced significant contributions, including 12 laptops from the Dawoodi Bohra community and a ₹15 lakh corpus fund. Rotary Club and IILM University also pledged support. He appealed for ₹4 lakh in monthly contributions to sustain operations.

Financial Progress and Governance Decisions

Treasurer Saeed Shervani presented audited accounts, highlighting the recovery of a ₹19 lakh deficit from the previous year. AEEDU currently holds ₹2 lakh in funds. The general body unanimously approved the accounts and empowered Founder Members to reconstitute the Governing Body for continuity. Members also endorsed the reappointment of auditors.

Prominent participants like Lt. Gen. Zameer Uddin Shah praised AEEDU’s work, urging leadership continuity. Shahid Siddiqui suggested reorienting activities to strengthen AEEDU’s position among nonprofits.

Stakeholders’ Meet: Insights and Innovations

The Stakeholders’ Meet, starting at 12:00 PM, attracted a larger audience. CEO Syed Mahmood Akhter shared visuals showcasing the positive impact of AEEDU’s Common Study Centres. Notable speakers, including Mamoon Akhter and Prof. Furqan Qamar, shared inspiring journeys and strategic suggestions. Iqra Quraishi proposed establishing Personality Development Centres across India.

Mufaddal Shakir from the Dawoodi Bohra community praised AEEDU’s efforts and extended blessings. Dr. Raihan Akhtar discussed a ₹10 crore project in Jaunpur, while Mr. Samar Alam highlighted the success of two Common Study Centres.

The event also featured the launch of two key initiatives. Prof. B.S. Butola introduced a research report emphasizing AEEDU’s impact and data challenges. Prof. Asiya Chaudhary unveiled an Entrepreneurship Module, “BEST,” to promote self-reliance among unemployed youth.

Children from AEEDU’s study centres shared their transformative experiences. Teachers Mohd. Amaan Hussain and Muskan showcased the centres’ remarkable progress, reflecting AEEDU’s commitment to enhancing educational opportunities for the underprivileged.
