The entire nation is immersed in the spiritual fervor of Maha Kumbh 2025, as people from all walks of life converge to take part in this sacred event. Among the participants, Adani Group, in collaboration with ISKCON, is making significant strides in promoting sustainability alongside spirituality. Known globally for its commitment to green energy, Adani is not only participating in the spiritual celebration but is also championing green energy and environmental conservation.
In line with its environmental commitment, Adani-ISKCON is distributing Mahaprasad to one lakh people every day during the Maha Kumbh fair, all while adhering to the principles of “Green and Clean.” This initiative is carried out in partnership with local shopkeepers in Prayagraj. Vegetables are sourced entirely from local vendors, supporting the community while ensuring freshness. Each day, 150 quintals of vegetables are required to cook meals for the thousands of devotees, with 450 quintals purchased daily from local vendors. Three large kitchens have been set up across the Maha Kumbh city to accommodate the demand.
Green And Clean Food Practices
Adani-ISKCON’s focus on sustainable food practices is evident in their strict no-plastic policy. Plastic and polythene are banned from the cooking and serving process. Instead, organic alternatives are used to serve food, with over 3 lakh biodegradable plates made from leaves used daily. Additionally, no plastic cups are used for drinking water, aligning with the green philosophy of the initiative.

Green fuel plays a significant role in the cooking process. In addition to LPG gas, thousands of kilograms of cow dung cakes are used daily in the kitchens. These eco-friendly fuel sources are supplied by ISKCON centers and local vendors, further contributing to the sustainability of the event.
The initiative not only supports local vendors but also prioritizes women vendors in the supply chain. By purchasing vegetables from these vendors, Adani-ISKCON ensures that the community benefits directly from the Maha Kumbh celebrations, contributing to local economic growth.
