In a significant step towards empowering women in Madhya Pradesh, the Adani Foundation, in collaboration with the Shivpuri district administration, laid the foundation stone for a garment training and production centre in Shivpuri. This initiative aims to train over 1,500 women in apparel production, providing them with the skills needed to achieve economic independence.
The newly proposed centre will equip over 600 advanced industrial garment production machines, facilitating the training of women over the next three years. It will be run under the Madhya Pradesh State Rural Livelihoods Mission, ensuring that women not only acquire garment stitching skills but also gain access to market linkages. These linkages will enable them to sell their creations at fair prices.
Upon completion of their training, the women will gain expertise in stitching a wide range of garments, including shirts, t-shirts, trousers, sleeveless jackets, ladies’ kurtis, tops, skirts, and school uniforms.
