Adani Foundation Partners With GEMS Education To Revolutionize Education In India

In a groundbreaking initiative, the Adani Foundation has joined forces with GEMS Education to establish a new network of affordable, world-class schools across India. The partnership is set to open schools in metropolitan cities and Tier II to IV cities, with an initial commitment of INR 2,000 Crore from the Adani family.

The initiative aims to make high-quality education accessible to students from all socio-economic backgrounds, aligning with the Adani Group’s vision of societal development.

Commitment to Accessible Education for All

The collaboration’s goal is to offer an exceptional K-12 educational experience, combining the best global practices with a deep understanding of local needs. Adani GEMS School of Excellence will open in Lucknow for the 2025-26 academic year. Over the next three years, the organization will establish at least 20 schools in key metropolitan areas and plans further expansion into Tier II to IV cities.

Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, emphasized that this partnership embodies the Group’s commitment to educational accessibility. “This initiative reflects our commitment to making world-class education affordable and widely accessible,” Adani said. “Through our collaboration with GEMS Education, we aim to empower the next generation of leaders to become socially responsible change-makers.”

Sunny Varkey, Founder & Chairman of GEMS Education, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our vision has always been to make quality education accessible to every learner, regardless of their socioeconomic background. The collaboration with the Adani Foundation will allow us to extend our reach and impact, benefiting students and educators across diverse regions in India.”

Building a Future-Ready Workforce

The Adani-GEMS partnership believes that a nation’s transformation begins with its youth. The initiative will help build a skilled, value-driven workforce equipped with a global curriculum that also draws upon the best aspects of Indian study boards. The Adani Group’s extensive infrastructure capabilities and GEMS Education’s expertise in K-12 education position the partnership to create a scalable, sustainable model for educational excellence across the country.

The Adani Foundation, which has been a key player in India’s social welfare initiatives since 1996, aims to empower children, women, youth, and marginalized communities through its focus on education, health, livelihoods, and more. The Foundation currently impacts over 9.1 million lives across 19 states, operating in 6,769 villages. This collaboration with GEMS Education furthers the Foundation’s mission of creating a better future for India’s underserved populations.
