Prominent spiritual leader Acharya Pramod Krishnam delivered a strong message on religious ethics and truth during an interview.
Reflecting on the spiritual significance of the Kanwar Yatra, he remarked that the month of Sawan is one of penance for followers of Sanatan Dharma and should be seen as a time of spiritual trial and discipline.
He commended the Uttar Pradesh government, under Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, for respecting and supporting the faith of the Kanwariyas.
“Previous chief ministers like Akhilesh Yadav, Mulayam Singh Yadav, and Mayawati also governed UP, but what’s being done now for Kanwariyas is different,” he said, alluding to past incidents where he believed Hindu sentiments were disrespected.

Acharya Krishnam stressed that any attempt to use religion while concealing the truth is fundamentally flawed.
“Religion stands on the foundation of truth. If someone hides the truth and uses religion as a cover for personal gain or deceit, they are wrong. No religion teaches us to lie.”
Drawing everyday parallels, he added, “Whether in school, at work, when voting, or when travelling abroad, you must always present identification. Good deeds also receive recognition in your name. So why hide your identity?”
He strongly condemned violence in the name of religion, noting that neither Sanatan Dharma nor any other faith permits violence. He expressed dismay at the selective silence on violence against Hindus.
“It is wrong that when Hindus are attacked, no one speaks up. We must acknowledge that every action has a reaction. In Pahalgam, people were shot after being asked their religion—it’s tragic.”
The spiritual leader also criticised individuals who run businesses under false names, saying it violates both ethical and religious principles.
“Those operating under false identities are also violating their own religion. Islam does not permit lying; it is not allowed in the Quran. If Hindus and Muslims are equals in this country, then why fear putting your real name on your shop?”
Acharya Pramod Krishnam’s remarks were not aimed at any one community but served as a call for honesty, accountability, and mutual respect across all religions.
His statements have sparked renewed discussions around religious transparency, identity, and the ethics of faith in public life.
