A serious accident on the Agra-Lucknow Expressway in Uttar Pradesh’s Etawah resulted in seven deaths and 25 injuries early Sunday morning.
The crash occurred when a double-decker bus traveling from Raebareli to Delhi collided with a car. The impact caused the bus to lose control and plummet off the expressway. The collision happened around 12:30 a.m., according to Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sanjay Kumar Verma.
The SSP explained, “The bus had 60 passengers on board. Four people died in the bus, and about 20-25 others were injured. Three people in the car also died. In total, seven people lost their lives.”

Among the injured, one person is in critical condition. The authorities are working hard to ensure that all survivors receive the necessary medical attention and reach their destinations. An FIR has been filed, and an investigation is in progress to determine the exact cause of the accident.
Preliminary reports suggest that the driver of the car may have fallen asleep. This accident Agra-Lucknow Expressway caused the car to veer into the wrong lane, leading to the collision with the bus. The force of the impact sent the double-decker bus crashing into a roadside ditch.
Local residents were the first to arrive at the scene. They informed the police and assisted in rescuing the injured from the bus. Their quick response helped mitigate the situation.
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed his condolences to the families of the victims. He has directed officials to expedite relief efforts for those injured and ensure they receive proper care.
