On November 9, TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee departs from his home in Kalighat to appear before the Enforcement Directorate regarding an alleged teachers recruitment fraud in Kolkata.
Abhishek Banerjee, a member of the Trinamool Congress, was questioned by the Enforcement Directorate on Thursday as part of their investigation into the purported West Bengal school jobs fraud. According to source , Banerjee, the national general secretary of the party, arrived at the ED headquarters in Kolkata at approximately 11.10 a.m.
Abhishek Banerjee, the nephew of West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee, told reporters shortly after leaving the ED office that he would assist the investigation team should it call him again.
“I’m not hiding anything. I’m available for calls whenever ED wants. The public can see that the BJP is powerless against us and is turning to investigative agencies. It’s regrettable. Present any proof you have against me to the court, Banerjee said.
“There is nothing the ED has discovered against me. I restate my prior statement: if any central agency can demonstrate my involvement in any illicit transaction, no CBI or ED investigation will be necessary. Instead, I will simply step up to the podium and be publicly hanged,” he continued.
