Delhi Police registered multiple First Information Reports (FIRs) on Saturday over violations of prohibitory orders in Connaught Place and other parts of New Delhi during Friday’s protests. Officials warned that repeat offenders would face action.
According to police sources, the FIRs concern violations of orders issued under Section 163 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita (BNSS).
Police said they announced dispersal instructions, but crowds gathered in Connaught Place despite restrictions.
The action followed the ‘Lehra Do Tiranga’ rally organised by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) near Central Park amid heightened security.
Police arrested CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke in connection with the proposed rally and scheduled his production before a Special Executive Magistrate (SEM) court on Saturday.
CJP legal affairs head Ratna Singh claimed on X that Dipke’s location remained unknown and his lawyers had not met him.

Police also detained All India Students’ Association (AISA) leader Neha Bora near Mandi House before releasing her.
The latest action comes amid tensions over the arrest of CJP co-convenors Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka.
Police sent both to five days of judicial custody after they allegedly entered Jantar Mantar and unfurled the national flag on October 13, a day after authorities de-notified the protest site.
Police had previously detained Dipke after he arrived from Mumbai to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged electoral-roll manipulation during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR).
Ahead of Friday’s rally, police informed Dipke that Connaught Place was not a designated protest site and the New Delhi Municipal Council had not authorised the march.
Police clarified that displaying the national flag was not prohibited, but unauthorised processions and gatherings could invite legal action.
