With just hours remaining before the nomination window closes for Haryana’s 5 October Assembly elections, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has released its sixth list of 19 candidates.

This brings the total number of candidates announced to 89 out of 90, as the party makes its push for a significant electoral presence in the state.

The latest announcement follows a previous list of 21 candidates unveiled just a day before.

The AAP, which has been campaigning independently in Haryana, is seeking to expand its influence in a state that borders its party-ruled Delhi and Punjab.

In a campaign rally on Wednesday, senior AAP leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia expressed confidence in Haryana’s readiness for change, advocating for improvements in education, healthcare, electricity, and employment.

Amidst a collapsed alliance attempt with Congress, AAP has released a roster of 40 star campaigners, including Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Haryana unit head Sushil Gupta, and senior leaders Raghav Chadha and Sanjay Singh.

Notably, Sunita Kejriwal, the Delhi Chief Minister’s wife, is also among the campaigners, championing the party’s promises: free electricity, mohalla clinics in every locality, a monthly aid of Rs 1,000 for women, youth employment, and enhanced education.

Raghav Chadha, AAP’s Rajya Sabha MP, attended the nomination filing for the Uchana seat’s candidate, Pawan Fauji, and dismissed the Jannayak Janta Party (JJP) as irrelevant for this election.

Chadha projected that the BJP would secure fewer than 20 seats and underscored the need for AAP’s support in forming the next Haryana government.

Chadha also emphasized the significance of backing Arvind Kejriwal, portraying him as a son of Haryana deserving of support to demonstrate the state’s affection for him.
