He had unsuccessfully contested the 2014 and 2019 Lok Sabha elections against BJP’s Parvesh Verma.
The AAP has fielded Tughlakabad MLA Sahi Ram Pahalwan from the South Delhi seat. The constituency is currently represented by BJP’s Ramesh Bidhuri.
According to the seat-sharing formula with the AAP, Congress will contest North East Delhi, North West, and Chandni Chowk seats. All three seats are represented by BJP in the Lok Sabha.
The Congress will run for the seats in North East Delhi, North West Delhi, and Chandni Chowk by the seat-sharing arrangement with the AAP. In the Lok Sabha, the BJP is the representative for all three seats.
The AAP has fielded Kurukshetra native and former Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Gupta in Haryana. Three of the AAP’s candidates for Assam and two for Gujarat had already been revealed.
In addition to AAP, the Congress and the Samajwadi Party have agreed to share seats in Uttar Pradesh, the most populous state in the nation with 80 representatives in the Lok Sabha. The SP and its allies will compete for the remaining 63 seats, leaving the grand old party to fight for 17 of them.
