Aadi Mahotsav 2023: PM Modi addresses and inaugurates the tribal festival
Aadi Mahotsav 2023: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inaugurated the mega National tribal festival, Aadi Mahotsav 2023 at the Major Dhyan Chand National Stadium in Delhi.
Union Tribal Affairs Minister Arjun Munda is also present with the prime minister.
PM pays tribute to tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda
Ahead of the inauguration of the festival, PM Modi has also paid floral tribute to tribal freedom fighter Birsa Munda.

Taking notes from Birsa Munda’s journey, the tribal freedom fighter was born on November 15 in 1875 and belonged to the Munda tribe. During British rule in the late 19th century, he spearheaded an Indian tribal religious Millenarian movement across the tribal belt of modern-day Bihar and Jharkhand.
His birth anniversary is celebrated as Birsa Munda Jayanti in the country and coincides with the Jharkhand Foundation Day.

PM Modi addresses the event
Addressing the tribal festival, PM Modi said, “In the last 8-9 years, events like Aadi Mahotsav that are connected to the tribal community have become a campaign for the country. I myself become a part of several such programmes. The tribal community’s welfare is also a matter of personal relations & sentiments for me.”
Moreover, he said, “New India is working with the vision of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas. The central government is making efforts to reach out to the people who have been unreached for a long time. This Aadi Mahotsav is making the idea of development heritage come alive.”
‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’
PM Modi’s ‘Sahkar se Samriddhi’ has brought forward development to the tribes living in 1.17 lakh villages across the nation. Aadi Mahotsav will connect these tribes & their products to the country, Tribal Affairs Minister, Arjun Munda said.

Moreover, the minister added, “PM Modi has allocated the budget for the Ministry of Tribal affairs with the goal that as we enter Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav the problems of the tribes & the tribal areas must be solved by 2047.”
