Jamia Violence Case: Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) student Sharjeel Imam and student activist Asif Iqbal Tanha were discharged by Delhi High Court on Saturday in the Jamia violence case. The decision was made by the Additional Sessions Judge Arul Varma-led Saket court bench.

Last year, the trial court mandated the filing of charges against Imam under IPC Sections 505 (Statements conducing to public mischief), 124A (Sedition), 153A (Promoting Enmity), 53B (Imputations detrimental to National Integration), and 13 (Punishment for Unlawful Activities Prevention Act).
