PM Modi will launch the full Delhi-Meerut RRTS corridor, boosting rapid connectivity and sustainable urban mobility across the NCR region.

A Major High-Speed Infrastructure Thrust In Meerut Tomorrow By PM Modi

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Meerut in western Uttar Pradesh on Sunday to launch and dedicate infrastructure schemes worth nearly Rs 12,930 crore.

The projects aim to transform regional connectivity and urban mobility across the National Capital Region.

At around 12:30 PM, the Prime Minister will flag off the Meerut Metro and the Namo Bharat train at Shatabdi Nagar Namo Bharat Station.

He will travel by Metro to Meerut South Station. He will then address a public rally at approximately 1 PM, according to an official release.

A central feature of the visit is the dedication of the entire 82-km Delhi-Meerut Namo Bharat Corridor to the nation.

This corridor represents India’s first Regional Rapid Transit System. The Prime Minister will also inaugurate the final operational segments.

Integrated Transport Milestone

These include the 5-km stretch between Sarai Kale Khan and New Ashok Nagar in Delhi, and the 21-km stretch from Meerut South to Modipuram in Uttar Pradesh.

The Namo Bharat system allows speeds of up to 180 kmph. It will sharply reduce travel time between Delhi and key urban centres such as Sahibabad, Ghaziabad, Modinagar and Meerut.

Sarai Kale Khan station will function as a major multimodal hub. It links Hazrat Nizamuddin Railway Station, the Delhi Metro Pink Line, Veer Haqeeqat Rai ISBT and Ring Road.

Three additional stations in Meerut-Shatabdi Nagar, Begumpul and Modipuram will also commence operations.

The Prime Minister will further inaugurate Metro services between Meerut South and Modipuram.

In a pioneering initiative, the Metro will operate on the same infrastructure as the Namo Bharat corridor.

With a top operational speed of about 120 kmph, it will become the fastest Metro service in the country.

It will complete the corridor in nearly 30 minutes, halting at all designated stations.

Officials state that the integrated model of regional rapid transit and urban Metro on shared tracks establishes a new standard for multimodal transport.

The projects will ease congestion, lower emissions and promote sustainable mobility.

The initiatives form part of the government’s broader agenda to modernise transport networks and enhance the quality of life through efficient, environmentally responsible infrastructure.
