6th Day In Borewell; Mother’s Heartfelt Plea For Rescue Of 3-Year-Old Daughter

The mother of 3-year-old Chetna, who fell into a borewell in Kotputli, Rajasthan, made an emotional plea for her daughter’s rescue.

Borewell

The mother of 3-year-old Chetna, who tragically fell into a borewell in Kotputli, Rajasthan, on Monday, made an emotional plea for the authorities to save her daughter.

Dhole Devi, Chetna’s mother, broke down in tears on Saturday as she called out for help, desperately asking the administration to bring her child to safety.

“For God’s sake, take my daughter out,” she cried, visibly distraught as the rescue operation continued without success.

Chetna’s uncle, Shubhram, also expressed frustration with the slow response from officials.

He stated, “If you ask too many questions, they say, The Collector ma’am will inform you; she’s currently resting.”

Shubhram further added that the District Collector has not visited the family yet.

The Ongoing Rescue Operation

The child has been trapped 150 feet underground since 23 December, after falling into a 700-foot-deep borewell.

The family, along with the entire community, remains anxious as rescue operations enter their sixth day.

Progress has been made, as the welding of the casing pipe was completed by Saturday morning.

The next phase of the operation involves digging a horizontal tunnel at a 90-degree angle, a crucial step in the attempt to free Chetna.

Rescue teams have sent down equipment such as oxygen, lights, fans, and cutters to aid in the operation.

However, media access to the site has been restricted for safety reasons.

Progress has been made, but there is growing frustration in the community. Some are questioning why alternative rescue methods were not pursued simultaneously with the current plan.

Many believe that a quicker, multi-pronged approach could have accelerated the rescue.

Despite the challenges and delays, rescue teams remain hopeful and committed to bringing Chetna back safely, with the family and the community holding on to hope for a positive outcome.
