17 Days have Passed Since Rahul Gandhi Accepted Debate Invitation, PM Yet To Gather Courage: Jairam Ramesh

Retweeting the May 11 X post of Rahul Gandhi, Congress leader Jairam Ramesh on Tuesday said that the PM is yet to gather the courage to accept the invitation for debate with Rahul Gandhi.

Retweeting the May 11 X post of Rahul Gandhi,  said that the PM is yet to gather the courage to accept the invitation to debate with Rahul Gandhi.

Jairam Ramesh took to the platform X, formerly known as Twitter, and wrote, “17 have passed since Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter accepting the invitation to debate with outgoing Prime Minister. The so-called 56-inch chest is yet to gather the courage to accept the invitation.”

Retired judge Madan B Lokur, Justice Ajit P Shah, and journalist N Ram extended an invitation to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for a debate on key election issues.

On May 11, Rahul Gandhi wrote a letter addressed to retired Justice Madan B Lokur, Justice Ajit P Shah, and Journalist N Ram, accepting the invitation.

Gandhi expressed his willingness to participate in the debate either by himself or through Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge.

Rahul Gandhi in his letter wrote, “It would be a positive initiative for the major parties to present their vision to the country from one platform for a healthy democracy.

Congress welcomes this initiative and accepts the invitation for discussion. The country also expects the Prime Minister to take part in this dialogue.”

Earlier, while accepting the debate with the congress leader, BJP Yuva Morch President Tejaswi Surya proposed BJMC’s Vice President  Abhinav Prakash’s name.

Elaborating on the background of Abinav Prakash, Tajaswi said that Prakash is from the Dalit Caste, Pasi, which makes up to 30 per cent of Raebareli where Rahul Gandhi is contesting the current Lok Sabha election.
