A comment About Just Deepika Or for the Entire India?
Recently in Paris Deepika Padukone, who attended Louis Vuitton’s ready to wear Summer/Spring latest collection, opened up about her global ambitions and revealed how a Hollywood actor commented on her English.
In an interview with the Business of Fashion (B.o.F), Deepika said, “I know this actor, I met him at this Vanity Fair party, and he said ‘Hey by the way, you speak English really well.’ I didn’t even realize what that meant. And when I came back I said, ‘What do you mean you speak English really well?’ Did he have this notion that we don’t speak English?”
Deepika Padukone, a Bollywood Actress as well as the brand ambassador of global brands like Levi’s, Adidas, Louis Vuitton and Cartier, revealed the reason behind not doing more Hollywood films after her debut film XXX: Return Of Xander Cage and her bad experiences in the US.
Deepika said that she sometimes finds herself in spaces where she is an unknown quantity and knowledge of India is scant and that there can be some awkward encounters too.
Deepika told to BoF, “It would upset me every time I went to the US. Some of the things that are said and some of the things that are done just make it so obvious. People don’t even know the world outside of the world that they live in.”
Other than being the brand ambassadors of many global brands, Deepika Padukone was invited as one of the jury members at Cannes in May this year.
The actor will be seen in the official Hindi remake of the 2015 Hollywood film The Intern, also starring Amitabh Bachchan
Deepika Padukone recently had a blink-and-miss appearance in Ayan Mukerji’s Brahmastra. The actor will be soon seen in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan, also starring John Abraham. Deepika has also signed filmmaker Siddharth Anand’s Fighter, starring Hrithik Roshan and many more to come.
