The Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check unit has issued a warning regarding a message circulating widely on social media that claims India Post is offering gifts and rewards through a programme called ‘Dak Seva Gifts’.
According to PIB Fact Check, the claim is completely false.
Authorities have clarified that India Post has no connection with any such reward scheme, promotional offer or lucky draw programme.
The fact-checking agency stated that fraudsters are using the name of India Post to mislead people and potentially gain access to their personal and financial information.

Officials stressed that India Post has not launched any initiative called ‘Dak Seva Gifts’ and has not authorised any rewards linked to the viral message.
The clarification aims to prevent citizens from falling victim to online scams that often use the names of trusted government institutions to appear legitimate.
PIB Fact Check has urged members of the public not to click on suspicious links, websites or messages promoting the alleged scheme.
Users have also been advised not to share sensitive information, including bank account details, one-time passwords (OTPs), Aadhaar numbers or other personal data with unknown sources.
Cybercriminals frequently use such tactics to conduct phishing attacks, steal financial information and commit identity fraud.
Authorities have encouraged citizens to verify doubtful claims before acting on them.

Citizens can report any suspicious links, messages, photographs or videos related to the Central Government to PIB Fact Check for verification.
Officials reiterated the importance of relying on official government channels for information and remaining cautious when encountering offers that promise gifts, rewards or cash benefits without verification.
The latest warning serves as a reminder for internet users to exercise caution online.
As digital fraud attempts continue to rise, government agencies are encouraging citizens to stay alert, verify information through trusted sources and report misleading content to help prevent the spread of scams.
