PM Modi Stopped By Xi’s Bodyguards At SCO Summit? PIB Fact Check Calls Claim Fake

Prime Minister Narendra Modi attended the SCO Summit in Bishkek alongside Chinese President Xi Jinping, Russian President Vladimir Putin and other leaders.

A claim circulating on social media alleged that Xi Jinping’s bodyguards stopped PM Modi at an exit gate during the summit.

PIB Fact Check rejected the claim as false and warned users about manipulated and misleading content.

The post claimed that PM Modi faced ‘more humiliation for India’ after Xi’s bodyguards allegedly stopped him. It further claimed that Pakistan’s Prime Minister spoke with Putin while the alleged incident involving PM Modi took place.

PIB Fact Check labelled the claim ‘FAKE’ and urged users to verify information through credible sources before sharing it.

PM Modi participated in diplomatic engagements with Xi, Putin and other leaders at the summit. He stressed the need to dismantle the ecosystem that supports terrorism, including its financing, recruitment, radicalisation and safe havens.

The Bishkek Declaration addressed issues including terrorism, connectivity and respect for sovereignty. The SCO adopted English as an official language.

No verified report supports the allegation that Xi Jinping’s bodyguards stopped PM Modi during the summit.

PIB Fact Check therefore classified the claim as fake and cautioned users against treating manipulated social media content as genuine.
