The claim, shared widely on social media, suggested that a critical segment of the cockpit voice recorder (CVR) data, specifically the final 10 minutes, was absent.

The report sparked public concern and prompted speculation regarding the circumstances surrounding the AI 171 flight.

However, PIB Fact Check’s clarification has laid these rumours to rest. The government has confirmed that there is no missing audio and that the black box recording remains fully available for official analysis.

Advisory on Responsible Information Sharing
