The Press Information Bureau’s Fact Check Unit has flagged a deepfake video of President Droupadi Murmu being circulated by Pakistani propaganda accounts.
The video carries a false claim that President Murmu made a statement about setting up an inquiry commission related to Rafale aircraft.
PIB Fact Check has debunked the claim and clarified that the video contains digital alterations.

According to PIB Fact Check, the President of India has not made any such statement regarding an inquiry commission related to Rafale aircraft.
The fact-checking agency cautioned people against believing or sharing the digitally manipulated content. It urged users to verify suspicious material before circulating it, particularly content concerning the Central Government.
The agency has made the original, unedited video available for comparison, allowing users to verify the difference between the authentic footage and the manipulated version.
PIB Fact Check has asked citizens who come across suspicious photographs, videos or messages related to the Central Government to flag them for verification.
The agency has, however, provided a dedicated phone number and email address for reporting such content.

The latest alert, however, comes amid growing concerns over the use of digitally manipulated and deepfake content to attribute false statements to public figures.
PIB Fact Check’s clarification establishes that the video circulating with the Rafale inquiry claim is not an authentic recording of President Murmu.
