A misleading notice circulating among the public claims to be issued by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) and asks recipients to deposit ₹20,000 for the installation of a mobile tower. The claim has been categorically debunked by the Press Information Bureau (PIB).
According to the clarification, the notice is fake and does not originate from TRAI. The telecom regulator does not issue such letters or demand money for the installation of mobile towers. PIB has cautioned people not to respond to these messages, not to share any personal information, and not to make any payments if they receive such communication.
