The clarification came as protesters continued their sit-in at Jantar Mantar, a day after clashes during the ‘Sansad Chalo’ march in Delhi.
Thousands of CJP supporters and students had marched towards Parliament on Monday, demanding Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan’s resignation over the alleged NEET-UG paper leak.
Police stopped the march with barricades and prohibitory orders.
After authorities removed the protest stage and tents, demonstrators returned to Jantar Mantar on Tuesday.
CJP spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka said the protest would continue and alleged that police action injured several students and volunteers on Monday. He claimed the alleged police brutality would draw more people to the movement and accused the police of mistreating women protesters, including Geetanjali J Angmo, wife of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, during the clashes.
The protest has become part of the broader political confrontation over alleged examination paper leaks, with Opposition parties demanding accountability and a thorough investigation into the NEET-UG controversy, while authorities continue to maintain security arrangements in the capital.
