The agency advised citizens to remain cautious when receiving such messages and avoid acting on unverified claims.
The message circulating online falsely links the alleged loan facility to a government welfare scheme, potentially misleading recipients into sharing personal or financial information.
Citizens should rely only on the official MyScheme portal for authentic information about Central Government welfare schemes.
PIB Fact Check also urged people to report suspicious images, videos or messages related to the Central Government through its official fact-checking channel so that their authenticity can be verified.
Citizens can send suspicious content to PIB Fact Check through WhatsApp or email for verification.
