The Mumbai Crime Branch has alleged that the firing incident involving Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff was part of a planned conspiracy to extort money, establish gang dominance and spread fear among the public.
According to investigators, the accused have links to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang and allegedly operated as members of an organised crime syndicate.
Police believe the attack aimed to strengthen the gang’s influence and secure financial gains through extortion.
Investigators said the accused allegedly used illegal firearms to execute the pre-planned attack. They are examining an interstate network involving several locations, including Delhi and Mumbai, to establish the conspiracy’s scope.
The Crime Branch is investigating the movements of two women, Babita and Radha, who were arrested in connection with the firing.
Officials are examining whether the women conducted reconnaissance in Mumbai’s Bandra Bandstand area, where several prominent film personalities, including actor Salman Khan, reside.
According to a Crime Branch official, the women visited the locality after arriving in Mumbai.
Investigators are probing the purpose of their visit and whether they surveyed the residences of film personalities.
The official said investigators obtained information about the women’s movements by analysing their mobile phones and other technical evidence.
The police have not yet established whether the visit was linked to a potential plan targeting any film personality.
The Crime Branch continues to probe the alleged conspiracy, the accused’s links to the gang and the interstate network.
Investigators are pursuing further leads as the investigation progresses.
