Shark Tank India – the show that is known for encouraging investments and young start-ups in India. It is the show that brought start-ups in the mainstream profession. It supported creative ideas and gave a flight to them. But it all seems like a bubble as this news comes in. As per the sources, 12 start-up founders have not yet got the funds promised to them. The founders came in front to express their condition and concerns.
Sharks retracting from their promises at Shark Tank India
Shaadi.Com founder Anupam Mittal locked a deal with a start-up founder named Rahul. The deal was secured on Shark Tank India Season 2. While expressing the situation, Rahul told media that there have been several fundamental disagreements over what was earlier agreed upon by Shaadi.com founder. Rahul was even told that his business is not viable.
There are other founders who alleged that the Sharks even revise the deal after offering the same. At times, the investors have even ditched the founder in the later phase.
There was another case of founder Kunal who was successful in getting a meeting set with a biggie investor from the show. Shark even offered him a deal but is now putting a hold on the final payment.
“When we asked why there was a delay and how the deal could be taken ahead, we were told that a one-hour meeting — referring to the Shark Tank pitch — cannot tell a shark enough about the business,” he revealed.

Ashneer Grover Reacts
Ashneer Grover is the co-founder of BharatPe who was part of this investment show in the first season. He has always gained the limelight because of his remarks to young entrepreneurs. Now, the remark goes to the Sharks as he takes a jibe at them for not paying the entrepreneurs. He says “Sharks are called sharks because they’re expected to take decisions and act quickly so that the ‘fish’ (the pitcher) has no time to react. If they say ‘no, it takes time,’ then they shouldn’t be called sharks — they should be called dolphins, instead.”
