Aamir Khan is in talks with producer Ramesh Taurani for a reboot of the popular Race franchise, with Sidharth Malhotra and Tiger Shroff having heard the script and expressed interest, according to a source close to the development.
According to the Pinkvilla report, Aamir has liked the idea and is working closely with the writers to further develop the script.
The project remains at a very early stage, and the team has yet to confirm the final cast.
The Race reboot is being planned as an action thriller designed to offer a fresh take on the franchise while retaining the twists and thrills associated with the earlier films.
The makers are looking to create a completely new world around the franchise, with plans for a strong ensemble cast. Casting details will likely announced at a later stage.
Producer Ramesh Taurani has already begun pre-production work on the project, while Vijay Krishna Acharya will likely direct the film.
Aamir is reportedly taking his time before formally committing to the project, focusing on bringing the script to the level he wants.
The actor currently has an interesting slate of projects. He is currently working on Lalkaara, followed by 3 Idiots 2. Both projects have official confirmation.
Alongside these films, Aamir is considering the Race reboot and another genre-breaking project, though details remain unrevealed.
The proposed reboot aims to deliver a big-screen action thriller with a strong ensemble and a distinctly new flavour for Indian audiences.
With the project still in its nascent stages, further developments regarding its cast and production remain awaited.
