Priyamani Reveals Shah Rukh Khan’s Gesture: Sent Jawan Co-Stars to Hotel with Bodyguards at 4am

Shah Rukh Khan’s reputation for his kindness and thoughtfulness towards his co-stars is widely acknowledged. Priyamani fondly reminisced about a heartwarming incident from the set of Jawan.

Priyamani has consistently praised Shah Rukh Khan for his considerate nature ever since their collaboration on the Chennai Express song “One Two Three Four.” In a recent interview, she once again lauded her Jawan co-star for his caring attitude towards his fellow actors.

Ensuring Safety During Late Hours

In conversation with Galatta Plus, Priyamani recounted a touching incident from the set of Jawan. She described how the crew was celebrating director Atlee’s birthday in Chennai until the early hours of the morning. When it was time for the female cast members to depart for their hotel, Shah Rukh Khan personally ensured their safety.

Protective Gesture

Priyamani shared, “He came and saw us off individually. He came to the car. And he actually had a car of bodyguards follow us up till the hotel because there was a good distance of about 45 minutes to about an hour. So he made the car follow us. We said, ‘You can go.’ They said, ‘No, these are special instructions given by Sir. We have to see you off.'”

Jawan Success and Shah Rukh’s Roles

In Jawan, Priyamani portrayed a convict and one of the women in lead character Azad’s (Shah Rukh Khan) team. Shah Rukh’s double roles as a jailer and a soldier contributed to the film’s massive success, grossing over ₹1100 crore worldwide.

Current Projects

Priyamani has since been involved in projects like Article 370 alongside Yami Gautam and Maidaan, where she portrays Ajay Devgn’s wife. Directed by Amit Sharma, Maidaan depicts the golden years of Indian football in the early 1950s-60s through the lens of coach Syed Abdul Rahim, played by Devgn.

Character Dynamics in Maidaan

Discussing her role as Saira in Maidaan, Priyamani acknowledged the limited screen time allotted to her character. However, she emphasized the importance of Saira’s role as Rahim’s confidante and emotional support system within the family dynamics portrayed in the film.
