Ranbir Kapoor was wife Alia Bhatt’s plus-one at the 69th National Awards ceremony in New Delhi today, and he took his duties as photographer-in-situ very seriously. Ranbir was captured on camera capturing Alia as she collected her National Award for Best Actress from President Droupadi Murmu. Alia, who shared the Best Actress prize with Kriti Sanon, blew a kiss to the audience as she walked onto stage. Alia was awarded for her performance as a real-life sex worker turned political activist in Gangubai Kathiawadi. She was presented with the Silver Lotus and a certificate by President Murmu. In the seats before her, Ranbir Kapoor busily clicked away as Alia posed with President Murmu.
Earlier in the day, a video of Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor attending the National Awards went viral. The couple left Mumbai early in the morning by plane.
Alia Bhatt reprised an outfit she had worn on an earlier important occasion—the ivory and gold Sabyasachi saree she wore when she wed Ranbir Kapoor last year—for her big day. When Alia was photographed wearing her wedding saree again, it quickly became popular online; she had replaced the wedding veil with white roses in her hair.

With her National Award triumph, Alia Bhatt brings to a close a spectacular year that started with her film RRR (which also took home six National Awards) winning an Oscar and a Golden Globe.
She had two major releases this year, Gal Gadot’s Heart of Stone and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani, both directed by Karan Johar and starring Ranveer Singh. She just started producing her new movie, Jigra.
