What is coal mine accident?

Let us tell you that this accident happened on November 13, 1989 in Mahabir Mine Colliery of Raniganj, West Bengal. Here, 220 laborers were working 350 feet below in the coal mine when a crack appeared in the wall of the water table during blasting. After which water started flowing rapidly in these cracks. Due to this, six of the laborers working there died on the spot. At the same time, those who were near the lift were quickly pulled out, even then 65 workers were left stranded.

At the time of this accident, Jaswant Singh Gill was posted there as Additional Chief Mining Director. He saved the lives of the remaining 65 workers. Jaswant Singh dug several boreholes where the workers were trapped and provided food and drink to them until they came out safely. After a long time, he saved the lives of all 65 workers and took them out. For this, Jaswant Singh Gill was also given the Civilian Gallantry Award ‘Savorytam Jeevan Rakshak Medal’ by President Ramaswami Venkataraman on behalf of the Indian Government in 1991. So, this movie is coming as a true story that will come to life on the big screen.
